Dr. Santosh Indraksha serves as Deputy Drugs Controller (India) for the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. He has been recently transferred from CDSCO-HQ, New Delhi and currently heading the West Zone office at Mumbai. The administrative control of the Zonal Office Mumbai, Subzone Goa, Subzone Ahmedabad, and Subzone Indore falls under his jurisdiction. He holds the Masters, and Ph.D. in pharmaceutical sciences. Before venturing into Government services, he has worked in the areas of Drug Product Research and Development with various pharmaceutical companies like Johnson and Johnson, Aurobindo, Wockhardt, Blue-cross etc. over the span of around 15 years. Research has been his keen acumen and interest. During the stint of his previous posting in New Delhi, he was working on the matters of various national and international policies like formulating the Rules, collaboration with Regulatory Authorities of other countries, representing Ministry of Health and family welfare in various international meetings of JTCs, CEPAs, FTAs, SPS-TBTs, INCB etc. Last year, he has successfully hosted the 5 day long, prestigious 19th International drugs regulator’s conference in New Delhi in collaboration with WHO wherein more than 125 countries have participated and got widespread accolades. His contributions in the areas of Government’s measures/policies against Drugs Deaddiction and Drugs trafficking in collaboration with NCB, NDDTC, NADA etc. is noteworthy.
